Picture developers, designers, and entrepreneurs coming together for a 24-hour coding marathon to create websites for local non-profits. The magic happened when we paired each non-profit with a team of tech professionals. Participants paid an entry fee, and local businesses sponsored prizes. Companies eagerly jumped in, seeing it as both community service and talent scouting opportunity. Success came from three key elements: - Real impact: Non-profits received functional websites - Community engagement: Local businesses felt invested - Skill showcase: Tech professionals demonstrated their expertise The event raised triple our target amount and created lasting community partnerships. Like building a successful website, the key was combining purpose with practical value. Walkathons are successful because over the past few years, people are becoming more and more health-conscious. Challenges such as step challenges (another successful fundraising theme) show that people like getting outdoors and demonstrating a healthy competitive spirit. Plus, the novelty of an offline event organized by an online business gives people a new way to get to know you.
