Department of Agriculture - Community Food Projects (CFP) Program

Status: Accepting Applications (Guidance on Application)

  • Support the development of projects with a one-time infusion of federal dollars to make such projects self-sustaining.

  • CFPs are designed to create community-based food projects with objectives, activities and outcomes that are in alignment with Community Food Projects Competitive Grants Program.

  • Awards will range between $35,000 - $400,000

Department of AgricultureDistance Learning and Medicine Program    

​Status: Accepting Applications

  • This fund is designated to help rural communities use the unique capabilities of telecommunications to connect to each other and to the world, overcoming the effects of remoteness and low population density.

  • Provides funds for the technical assistance and instruction, as well as, acquisition of eligible capital assets, (broadband transmission facilities, interactive video equipment, data terminal equipment, computer hardware, network components, software, inside wiring and similar infrastructure).

Department of Health and Human Services - Social and Economic Development Strategies -SEDS

  • The Administration for Children and Families (ACF), Administration for Native Americans (ANA) announces the availability of Fiscal Year (FY) 2020 funds for the Social and Economic Development Strategies (SEDS) program.

  • This program is focused on community-driven projects designed to grow local economies, strengthen Native American families, including the preservation of Native American cultures, and decrease the high rate of current challenges caused by the lack of community-based businesses, and social and economic infrastructure in Native American communities.

Department of AgricultureRural Telementoring Training Center (RTTC) Program    

​Status: Accepting Applications

  • The program’s objectives emphasize the following:

    • identifying and expanding current and new telementoring learning programs

    • developing freely accessible tools and resources to support telementoring learning program planning and implementation

    • creating a standardized telementoring learning program data set and evaluation toolkit HRSA expects the RTTC to provide technical assistance (TA) resources that are national in scope and that will meet the needs of rural communities and practitioners. The RTTC will assist health care organizations such as academic medical centers and other centers of excellence in the implementation of cost-effective telementoring programs to serve rural and medically underserved areas and populations.

Department of Health and Human Services - Announcement to Support Novel, High-Impact Studies Evaluating Health System and Healthcare Professional Responsiveness to COVID-19

  • The health systems research community should prepare to submit applications to AHRQ to fund critical research focused on evaluating topics such as innovations and challenges encountered in the rapid expansion of telemedicine in response to COVID-19, effects on quality, safety, and value of health system response to COVID-19, and the role of primary care practices and professionals during the COVID-19 epidemic.

  • AHRQ is particularly interested in understanding how digital health innovations contributed to health system and healthcare professional innovation and challenges and solutions to meeting the needs of vulnerable populations including older adults, people living with multiple chronic conditions, rural communities, and uninsured and underinsured populations.

Economic Development Administration - Public Works and Economic Adjustment Assistance Programs

Status: Accepting Applications

  • EDA solicits applications from applicants in rural and urban areas to provide investments that support construction, non-construction, technical assistance, and revolving loan fund projects under EDA’s Public Works and EAA programs.

  • Grants and cooperative agreements made under these programs are designed to leverage existing regional assets and support the implementation of economic development strategies that advance new ideas and creative approaches to advance economic prosperity in distressed communities.

  • EDA provides strategic investments on a competitive- merit-basis to support economic development, foster job creation, and attract private investment in economically distressed areas of the United States.

Due Date: There are no submission deadlines under this opportunity. Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis until the publication of a new PWEAA NOFO.

Federal Communications Commission - COVID-19 Telehealth Program

Status: Accepting Applications (Guidance on Application)

  • $200 million to help health care providers provide connected care services to patients at their homes or mobile locations in response to COVID-19.

  • In advance of filing an application, parties should:

    • Obtain an FCC Registration Number (FRN) from the Commission Registration System (CORES), as well as a CORES username and password at that link.

    • Obtain an eligibility determination from the Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC) by filing FCC Form 460 through My Portal on USAC's webpage. (Filers do not need to be rural health care providers in order to file Form 460 for this program.)

    • Register with the federal System for Award Management (SAM)

Payroll Protection Program    

Status: Paused 

  • The Paycheck Protection Program provides small businesses with funds to pay up to 8 weeks of payroll costs including benefits. Funds can also be used to pay interest on mortgages, rent, and utilities.

  • Fill out this form and apply through any existing SBA 7(a) lender or through any federally insured depository institution, federally insured credit union, and Farm Credit System institution that is participating.

Small Business Administration - Economic Injury Disaster Loans

Status: Accepting Applications

  • SBA provides low-interest disaster loans to businesses of all sizes, private non-profit organizations, homeowners, and renters.

  • Disaster loans can be used to repair or replace the following items damaged or destroyed in a declared disaster: real estate, personal property, machinery and equipment, and inventory and business assets.
