Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) - Domestic Hunger Grants

Status: Accepting Applications, Registration through May 8, 2020

  • ELCA World Hunger Domestic Hunger Grant applicants must:

    • be a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization;

    • able to demonstrate a strong, recognized and established relationship with a congregation, ministry or institution of the ELCA;

    • able to demonstrate a strong, recognized and established relationship with the community in which the work will take place; and

    • actively engaged in the work described in the application.

  • ​Awards will be for a three-year cycle, with a maximum award of $10,000 per year, contingent upon fund availability and the completion of annual evaluations.

  • New applications are accepted annually.

Bank of AmericaEconomic mobility focused on the needs of the community by addressing economic development and social progress

Status: Applications open June 1, 2020

  • ​Supports nonprofit organizations as they work to preserve, and increase access to a mix of affordable housing options and connect low- and moderate- income individuals and families with the tools and resources to achieve their financial goals.

  • Supports local and regional revitalization efforts that take a holistic approach to building thriving communities and creating economic opportunity and livable neighborhoods. This includes support of economic drivers such as arts and cultural institutions that contribute to the overall vitality of the community.

  • Provide funding to organizations improving community resilience in under-resourced areas impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

CenterPoint Energy Foundation - COVID-19 Relief Fund

Status: Accepting Applications

  • ​For nonprofit organizations, agencies and causes that are committed to supporting those who have been disproportionately impacted by COVID-19.

  • COVID-19 Relief Fund will include $1 million in direct contributions, as well as up to $500,000 in matching gifts for employees’ contributions to qualifying 501(c)3 organizations.

Walmart Foundation

Status: RFP to be released

  • $25 million to support organizations on the front lines responding to the outbreak.

    • $5 million to support global efforts to help countries prevent, detect and manage the coronavirus;

    • $10 million to support food banks, school meal programs and organizations that provide access to food for under-served populations; and

    • $10 million to support efforts in local communities in the United States and international markets.
