One of Minnesota’s oldest Black-founded nonprofits, Sabathani Community Center provides culturally responsive services to around 32,000 people annually in South Minneapolis. Their programs include a food shelf that distributes over a million pounds of food annually; a food delivery service for homebound community members; a clothing closet; programming for seniors; a workforce development program that helps people transition into livable wage careers; and their BE@School Program, Stronger Together, a wrap-a-around program designed to help school-aged students stay in school. In addition, Sabathani supports more than 20 BIPOC-led small businesses and nonprofits through its below-market rate office, meeting, and event spaces.
